The outer rim of each mirror case was glued onto the circular disk of the mirror case: this practice betrays a modern date for the pieces.

Fitzhenry collection: sale, Christie's, London, 16 June 1905, lot 10. Bought by the Museum from A. Satori in Vienna in September 1923 (Founders Society Purchase).
