Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; angels holding the sun and moon; angels crying; Adam collecting Christ's blood in a chalice at the foot of the cross.
Medallions containing quatrefoils enclosing protruding cones in the spandrels. Border of dentils.

Koechlin Number: 0832

Vöge 1900: French, 14th century.
Volbach 1923: France, mid 14th century.
Koechlin 1924: France, 2nd half of 14th century
Darmstadt and Munich 1999: Paris (?), last quarter of the 14th century.
Museum's opinion 2010: Rhineland (Mainz?) (Kremsmünster style), c. 1375-1400.

Style of the Kremsmünster Master.

Traces of two missing hinges on the left side.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of gilding and polychromy.

Object Condition
Missing: Part of the background to the right of the Virgin.
Cracks and holes.

Acquired in 1883 in Munich.
