Comments
Made of at least 3 pieces: 2 interlocking cylinders enclosing a figure of the Virgin and Child. Screw thread underneath indicating that it formed part of a larger object.
Provenance
Found on the site of the Royal Aquarium, Westminster. Purchased in 1912 for the London Museum (opened to the public in 1914); London Museum merged with the Guildhall Museum in 1976 to form the Museum of London.
