Demotte collection, early 20th century. Collection of Gabriel Dereppe, New York (in 1943): sold by him to the Brummer Gallery, New York, on 11 November 1943; sold, Brummer sale, Parke-Bernet, New York, 23 April 1949, lot 648, to the Museum of Fine Arts (William Francis Warden Fund).
