Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of gilding in the hair, traces of red on the lips.
Reverse
Flat. Uncarved. Scoring in the upper part on the back of the statuette.
Typed label on the back: 'Ivory angel, Italian, 13th century) and on the underside of the case.
Carved from a thin curved piece of ivory. Backed with a fill of hard wood (chestnut) to stabilise the figure.
Object Condition
Missing: candlestick.
