Two holes on the left and one hole on the right (plugged with ivory).
Chipped along the upper left edge (repaired with ivory).

Comments
This piece has been integrated into the 19th-century binding of a manuscript prayer book written in the Netherlands in the late 15th or early 16th century. The stamp of the binder, Alfred Matthew, features on the verso of the first flyleaf. The book is contained in a red box-case by Marguerite Duprez Lahey. The binding is 95 x 62mm.

Provenance
Collection of Nathaniel Conklin: his sale, Anderson Galleries, New York, 19 May 1905, lot 308. Owned by George D. Smith, dealer. Purchased by John Pierpont Morgan (b. 1837, d. 1913) from Pearson in 1910; collection of J. P. Morgan (b. 1867, d. 1943).
