Carved in the round. Modern label with inscription on the bottom: 'BODEMVONDST BOERENBURGER WEG NOORDWYK / 1952'.

Object Condition
Traces of iron nails.

Comments
This piece may have been part of a reliquary. The lions have drilled pupils.

Provenance
Found during excavations in Noordwijk, Netherlands; collection of G. W. Oelze, Bremen; acquired by the Museum on 10 May 1969.
