Lamb of God (Agnus Dei); cross and banner; dragon head.
Painted inscription in Gothic script: 'Ave Maria Gra[tia] P[lena D]ominus [Tecum] Benedica' and, on the other side 'Agnus Dei Qui Tollis Pecata Mundi Miserere Nobis'.

Museum's opinion 2013: Italy (Rome), 13th-14th century.

Extensive traces of gilding and polychromy (black and red).Painted inscription in Gothic script: 'Ave Maria Gra[tia] P[lena D]ominus [Tecum] Benedica' and, on the other side 'Agnus Dei Qui Tollis Pecata Mundi Miserere Nobis'.Painted foliated decoration.

Reverse
Carved on both sides.

Comments
This crozier is still being used today for processions on special feast days.
