Register 1: Saint Christopher carrying Christ across the river.
Register 2: Martyrdom of saint Thomas Becket three soldiers in armour; soldier striking saint Thomas on the head; cleric holding a cross.
Register 3: saint Ethelbert holding a sceptre and his head and standing on a man.

Randall 1993: English, 1325-1350.
Museum's opinion 2010: French, 14th century.

This wing is part of the same ensemble as Inv. 51.6, also in Boston.

Provenance
Emile Baboin collection, Lyon. Bought by the Museum of Fine Arts from Raphael Stora, New York, in 1951 for $500 (Helen and Alice Coburn Fund).
