Seated Virgin and Child; Christ walking in the Virgin's lap; Christ in long robe; Christ holding the Virgin's left hand; twisting movement of Christ; belt; bench.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy: on the back of the seat, inside of the veil (red), cloak (green). Gilding in the hair and patterns along the hems.

Reverse
Carved in the round.

Object Condition
Missing: upper part of the Virgin's head; sceptre or stem of flowers originally held by the Virgin. The head of Christ and the right arm of the Virgin have become detached but have been put back into place.
Some restorations at the back of the throne, to the drapery of the Virgins' cloak at the front and to the knee of Christ.

M. Hanicq collection. Acquired by the Brussels Museum in 1867.
