Wing, left
Register 1: figure of the Church (Ecclesia).
Register 2: soul before the gate of Heaven.
Centre panel
Register 1: Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist.
Register 2: Harrowing of Hell with Adam and Eve coming out of the Mouth of Hell.
Wing, right
Register 1: figure of Synagogue (Synagoga).
Register 2: kneeling angel.
Under trefoil arches.

Museum's opinion 2012: French or English (?), late 13th century.


Attribution
Unknown

Hinges
Two ring hinges on either side.

Reverse
Flat and smooth.

Object Condition
The centre panel is broken into two pieces which have been glued back together. Part of the upper age has also broken off, and one portion seems to be a later replacement (paler ivory).
Three holes in the lower border of the centre panel. One hole in each of the wings.

Provenance
Bought from art dealer Bresset, Paris, in April 1962.
