Register 1: Entry into Jerusalem; apostles including saint John the Evangelist holding a martyr's palm.
Register 2: Christ washing the feet of the apostles.
Border of dentils.

Dalton 1909: French, mid 14th century.
Museum's opinion 2011: French, 2nd or 3rd quarter of the 14th century.

Reverse
Recessed to receive the wax, with a raised border. Some crosshatching. Ink inscription: 'W. M' (for William Maskell).

Object Condition
The raised border on the back has been cut away or worn down. Central hole in the upper part of the panel.

Provenance
Acquired in France. Collection of William Maskell (b. 1814, d. 1890); bought from him by the museum in 1856.
