Register 2: seated Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two standing angels holding candlesticks.
Blind arches. Tracery.
Porter 1974: French, late 13th century.
Warren 2014: Spain or England (?), c. 1275.

Traces of two missing hinges on either side.
Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of polychromy (dotting along the hems).
Reverse
Flat and smooth. Some scratches.
Incised illegible handwritten inscription. White label cointaining the inscription: ‘4’. Handwritten ink inscription in the lower left corner: ‘M.198’ (Mallett inventory number).
Object Condition
Missing: pinnacles; part of Longinus' and Stephaton's spears. Top and bottom edges crosshatched and with holes.
Repairs where the hinges once were.

Possibly collection of Augustus Welby Northmore Pugin (b. 1812, d. 1852); does not feature in the Pugin sale, February 1853.
