Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two standing angels holding candlesticks.
Pointed trefoils. Pinnacles.

Randall 1993: North French, 3rd quarter of the 14th century.

Hinges
Traces of two missing hinges on the right side.

Polychromy - Gilding
Traces of gilding and polychromy: red (lining of the Virgin's and the angel's cloak; architectural details), gold (along the hems, hair).

Object Condition
Cracked around the lower hinge.
Missing: lower left corner.

Provenance
Collection of Dr. Lillian Malcove (b. 1902, d. 1981), New York (bought from Mathias Komor, New York, in 1960); bequeathed to the University of Toronto in 1981 .
