Wing, left
Standing Virgin and Child (Vierge glorieuse); two standing angels holding candlesticks; two angels crowning the Virgin.
Wing, right
Crucifixion with the Virgin and saint John the Evangelist; sun and moon.
Beaded border.

Koechlin 1912: mid 14th century.
Randall 1993: Mosan (?), 1340-1360.

Hinges
Two hinges.

Reverse
Flat and smooth. Inscription with modern inventory number.

Object Condition
Missing: left foot of the Virgin.
Repaired crack in the lower left border and angel's drapery. Breakage around the upper hinge. Many small vertical cracks. A large piece has broken from the lower right corner of the left leaf, reaching almost to the left hip of the standing angel (repaired with glue). Slight loss at the bottom edge of the left leaf.

Emile Baboin collection, Lyons; Aimé Baboin (b. 1888, d. 1985), Lyons, by inheritance; bought from Raphael Stora, New York, in 1955, on consignment from Aimé Baboin.
